Project Supervisor
The Project Supervisor will oversee and train Greencorps Chicago program participants and community organizations to ensure quality projects. The Project Supervisor will plan projects and schedules while prioritizing activities, participate in preparing and tracking project or program operating budgets. The position will provide instruction and on the job training in computer de-manufacturing, reassembly, and Information Technology to program participants in the classroom and in hands on projects. The ability to train in solar panel systems and installation is a plus. The responsibilities of the Project Supervisor include: - Creating a weekly schedule; attending weekly staff meetings; - Managing multiple projects at one time; - Train crews in computer hardware, computer assembly, networking and information technology fields; - Daily on-site crew management and supervision - Coordinate warehouse activities with training activities; - Develop curriculum, evaluate progress and reinforce lessons in hands on projects; - Prepare trainees with knowledge to complete field projects - Other tasks as needed. Qualifications for this position include: - Graduation from an accredited college or university with an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in related field supplemented by three years of progressively responsible experience - Electronics recycling, computer de-manufacturing, information technology skills and experience required - Experience in solar systems and installation preferred Experience in vocational training and workforce development preferred - Ability and willingness to work with a diverse population, members of the public and community groups; - Ability to demonstrate organizational and leadership ability; - Ability to lift and move heavy objects and work outside in inclement weather and extreme temperatures; - Willingness to work an irregular work week , including occasional weekends or evenings; - Basic Computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint); - Must have a valid Illinois driver=s license with clean driving record; - Salary range of $36,000 to $40,000 depending on qualifications.
