Document and Records Manager ? Research Triangle Park, NC

Role Purpose ?

? Manage the Biotech Quality Management group documents and platform
? Manage the document control processes for global Biotech Research and NAFTA Product Development.
? Administer continuous improvement activities for global R&D and NAFTA Product Development.
? Maintain quality system records for global Biotech Research and NAFTA Product Development.
? Develop and maintain dashboards for key quality management system performance indicators.
? Perform other duties as assigned to support GM Quality Management.

Accountabilities ?

? Control SharePoint site features and permissions, and train new users as required.
? Ensure proper formatting and accurate, timely database updates when documents are created or revised.
? Maintain the master document lists and keep departmental hardcopies of quality system documents current.
? Coordinate periodic reviews of documents with process owners to establish continuing suitability.
? Maintain audit records, CPAR and deviation request logs and follow up with responsible parties on action assignments.
? Track quality system metrics and prepare reports as directed.


? The GM quality management system is still in development, and changes to the infrastructure may be required to sustain its effectiveness.
? The company culture is not steeped in the tradition of formal quality management, and so a firm but supportive approach will be necessary for success.

Knowledge, experience & capabilities ?

Critical knowledge:

? Minimum of a Bachelor?s degree in a science or engineering discipline.
? Knowledge of quality management systems (e.g. ISO 9000, GMP, GLP).
? Solid understanding of document/records management principles and practices.

Critical experience:

? Experience administering a document control process within a formal quality management system.
? Demonstrated ability to work with electronic databases and intranet sites.


Critical technical, professional and personal capabilities:

? Ability to work in a fast paced and ever changing environment.
? Excellent communication skills and ability to interact with individuals at all levels of a global organization.
? Detail oriented, with well developed organization and prioritization skills.
? Strong customer service orientation.
? Proficient in Microsoft Office 2003 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint,Outlook), web-based data management and internet applications.
? Experience with Microsoft SharePoint 2003 a plus.
