Role Purpose:

? Develop new technologies to improve the biological and physical performance of future products and to enhance our technology base in methods for product development.

Accountabilities
? Once the ?best? route has been selected, work will move onto optimization of the route in the lab. The focus of this work will be 4-fold:
o Maximizing yields and quality
o Improving productivity
o Ensuring robustness / reproducibility
o Minimization of waste
? If the discovery and development are successful and we progress to large-scale, the focus of the work will move onto:
o Examination of scale-up characteristics
o Detailed evaluation of potential hazards/risks (prior to manufacture)
o Working with project team to site and trial on a manufacturing site.

Critical knowledge
? Recent Ph. D. in physical/chemical sciences
Critical experience
? Laboratory experience
? Experience with statistical analysis and experimental design
? Familiarity with emulsions, colloidal dispersions and surfactants/polymers
? Familiarity with agronomy or bioassays a plus
Critical technical, professional and personal capabilities
? Team-oriented, good communication and inter-personal skills
? Methods development aptitude and creativity.
