Landscape Installer / Garden Maintenance Position

We seek a full-time Landscape Installer / Garden Maintenance person to install and maintain three residential urban landscapes and two suburban retail center landscapes. Hours are Monday through Friday 8:00 5:00 with the possibly of some overtime.

Duties:
Maintain residential urban gardens and the landscape of three high rise multi family housing projects and two retail centers through pruning of shrubs and small trees, deadheading and maintaining annuals and perennials, and keeping beds weed-free through pulling and spot spraying.
Planting of shrubs, perennials and annuals.
Plant and maintain annuals in large planters on terraces and sundecks.
Occasional planting of plants up to 15 - gallon size, occasional transplanting of smaller plants.
Installing landscape edging, mulch and rock beds.
Light diagnosis and treatment of plant health problems. Serious problems will be referred to appropriate professionals (ex. Arborist or spray professional).
Drive vehicle from site to site.
Keep records of all activities.
Select and supervise a landscape crew if needed.

Qualifications:
Coursework in horticulture related classes required, or demonstrated knowledge of garden maintenance plus MNLA certification.
Must have valid Minnesota Driver's license and good driving record.
Demonstrated ability to efficiently maintain a landscape consisting of annuals, perennials, trees and shrubs and mulched beds.
Ability to work outdoors all day in all conditions during May through November.
Agile, able to move quickly in planting beds, to work with hands and to lift 10 - 20lbs. frequently through the day.
